Chuck Bass

For all you Gossip Girl fans... WHAT THE F***?

Chuck Bass can't be dead, right?  Say it isn't so. Because I may stop watching.  And, with no more 24, too, what the heck will I do on Monday nights?

(Yes, I am aware of the vast difference between Gossip Girl and 24, but TV is my guilty pleasure.  And, a girl is allowed to be diverse.) Back to my point...

Dear CW... Jenny Humphrey is free to go, but what will GG be without Chuck Bass?  Doesn't every show about wealthy, NYC, college freshmen need a suit-wearing, smirky-smiling, booze-drinking, man-whore billionaire?  Glad you see things my way.
You know you love me. xoxo.

Aaaaaaahhhh....

Change is often good.  And exciting.  But, change is also pretty scary sometimes.

I got a new job!  A job I can't wait to start.  A job I've had my eye on for two years.  A job that breaks me into a new career... a world I WANT!

But, for some reason I can't let myself get too excited yet.  I have spent so much time being utterly miserable in my job the past year-and-a-half or so that I feel myself constantly waiting for someone to pinch me and wake me up from this fantasy I'm in.  Am I scared because I want it so much?

Well, my nervousness took a back seat today.  I just had lunch with my new boss, and I just broke the news to my old one.  And, now I feel like I can breathe a little.  All those jitters wrapped up in bittersweet conversations and learning new things... to those jitters I say, "Thank you, and drive through" (compliments of my pal Mark).

Time for the good.  The exciting.  The smiles.  The TELLING people.

So, peace-out, UN.  Hello, Arts world!

Life is nuts!

This week (and for the past several, actually) I feel like I have been running in circles.  I've been packed full of obligations all while in the midst of interviews in attempt for a career change.  Busy is good.  I think I'm better when I'm busy.  But, seriously... lately I feel like a crazy person.

And, I am always one of those people who reminds others to take "me" time... pamper yourself, spend some time doing something for you.  I, however, do not heed my own advice.

My mom sent me an email today that reminded me to take a break from the craze every now-and-then, not to get to overwhelmed and remember what's really important.  Enjoy...

The Mayonnaise Jar

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle,

When 24 hours in a day is not enough;

remember the mayonnaise jar and 2 cups of coffee.
A professor stood before his philosophy class

and had some items in front of him.

When the class began, wordlessly,

he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar

and start to fill it with golf balls.

He then asked the students if the jar was full.

They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured

it into the jar. He shook the jar lightly.

The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls.

He then asked the students again

if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand

and poured it into the jar.

Of course, the sand filled up everything else.

He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded

With an unanimous 'yes.'

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table

and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively

filling the empty space between the sand.

The students laughed.

'Now,' said the professor, as the laughter subsided,

'I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life..

The golf balls are the important things - God, family,

children, health, friends, and favorite passions

Things that if everything else was lost

and only they remained, your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the things that matter like your job, house, and car.

The sand is everything else --

The small stuff.

'If you put the sand into the jar first,' he continued,

'there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls.

The same goes for life.

If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff,

You will never have room for the things that are

important to you.

So...

Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness.

Play with your children.

Take time to get medical checkups.

Take your partner out to dinner.

There will always be time

to clean the house and fix the dripping tap.

'Take care of the golf balls first --

The things that really matter.

Set your priorities. The rest is just sand..'

One of the students raised her hand

and inquired what the coffee represented.

The professor smiled..

'I'm glad you asked'.

It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend.'
